About the Suzuki Grand Vitara
2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara Review

The 2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara has the benefit of being one of those rare vehicles that comes with a long list of standard features that you have to order separately in other vehicles. Things like automatic climate control, a 7 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, a navigation system, and of course a four wheel drive system.

While the Suzuki Grand Vitara does not have a V6 engine, it is fuel efficient and comes in three basic body styles; base, Premium and Limited.

The Base model comes with a wide variety of features including automatic headlights that will turn off without you having to go back; a keyless entry to guarantee the safety of your vehicle; full powerless accessories; even a trip computer to calculate the distance you’ve gone and an navigation system that will keep you from getting lost (providing you use it). It even has a four-speaker sound system and a CD player for all your favorite albums. Add in the automatic climate control and the 16 inch steel wheels and you have a good number of valuable options for a relatively affordable price.

The Premium level has all of the base features, but it also includes some very special features such as cruise control and heated mirrors and an upgrade to your navigation system so that you can get real time traffic reports and maps to help you on your trip. In addition, it also has rear privacy glass and a four-speed automatic transmission.

If you opt for the Limited level of the Suzuki Grand Vitara comes with everything the two lower levels come with but, in addition, has leather upholstery for that ultra classy touch, front seats that are heated to keep you warm when it’s cold outside, 18 inch alloy wheels, and a seven-speaker audio system instead of the standard four speaker system.

All of the three models come with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. While this is not a particularly powerful engine, unless you are looking to carry large loads or do a lot of off-roading should work just well for you. The base-model comes with a five speed manual transmission while the Premium and Limited editions have a four-speed automatic and while all the models come with two-wheel drive standard, Premium models can be had with a four wheel drive option.

It takes over 10.2 seconds for the Suzuki Grand Vitara to reach 60 mph and gets 19 miles per gallon in city driving and 25 miles per gallon on the highway making the combined fuel efficiency 22 mpg, making it a comfortable choice of vehicles for fuel efficiency.

All in all, the Suzuki Grand Vitara may not be the top in its class, but it makes for a great choice for an affordable 4×4 vehicle and will provide you with much of the dependability and flexibility that customers have come to expect from a 4×4.
